Cross O'Cliff Hill and Canwick Hill in Lincoln to close for roadworks
Two major routes in and out of Lincoln are to be closed for roadworks during half term.
Cross O'Cliff Hill will be closed on Tuesday, February 19 and Wednesday, February 20, so repairs can be made to the road surface.

Traffic will be diverted via Canwick Avenue, Canwick Road, South Park and vice versa. Local residents have been informed and will able to drive safely through the works.
Similar enhancements will then take place overnight between 7pm and 7am on Canwick Hill on February 21 and 22.

A northbound road closure will be in place between South Park Avenue and the junction with Heighington Road for motorists travelling into the city centre.
Motorists travelling into Lincoln from Heighington and Canwick will be diverted via Canwick Avenue and Cross O'Cliff Hill. Motorists from Washingborough will be diverted to Heighington and will join the diversion as the Washingborough Road junction with Canwick Road will be closed.
Dave Underwood, senior highways officer, said: "Our top priority is to ensure the county's roads are in a safe condition for motorists to use.
"We are improving the surface on these two hills when there will be less traffic on the roads to minimise the disruption to motorists."
Advance warning signs will be in place for both improvement schemes throughout. Motorists are advised to allow extra time for their journeys.

“What's the betting the Cross O'Cliff works will over-run, but the Canwick Hill can't be delayed.
So Both roads will be shut!!!
And I do hope this isn't another tar and gravel job like Sleaford's Grantham Road - that only lasted a few months before it started flaking off!!!”

I mean, it's not like their wholly unnecessary journeys have contributed to the state of the road, is it?”
