French car maker Peugeot has released an improved version of its 3008 HYbrid4 diesel-electric hybrid people family car.

Already well known for its combination of performance and low CO2, Peugeot has chipped away at the latter to deliver an enhanced model with a new low rating of 91g/km.

New management software for the engines, including a number of improvements, has helped to reduce the car's emissions further.

The reduction is said to be most marked in an urban driving environment.

According to Peugeot, the 3008 HYbrid4 is now type-approved at 91g/km and there is potential for 80.7mpg for the version fitted with low rolling resistance Energy Saving 16'-inch tyres. Models fitted with other tyre sizes see their CO2 emissions reduced to 99g/km.
