DEBATE: Is call to have home for battered husbands in Lincolnshire valid?
A CALL has come for a home for 'battered husbands' to be established in East Lindsey.
At a full meeting of the district council, Councillor Mark Anderson said there needed to be a place for men seeking refuge from domestic violence.
"It's a problem," he said. "We need to demonstrate that we are serious about equality."
Mr Anderson did not give an indication as to the extent of the "problem" nor state how much accommodation he felt would need to be provided in such a refuge.
However, no support for his plea came from any other of the other councillors attending the meeting.
