The dynamic duo's prize is to perform at Crufts next year, a dog-friendly holiday and a supply of canine treats.

Christine Bleakley hosted the proceedings and the judging panel included Ashleigh and Pudsey – who triumphed in Britain's Got Talent earlier this year in front of 13 million people – Sharon Osbourne with her furry friends, Bella and Rocky, and comedian Bill Bailey with his dogs Teddi and Bule.

The panel gave their verdicts on their favourite performing pooch before the studio audience hailed Indie and Lucy the victors.

“Well done Lucy! A wonderful show and every bit as good and Ashleigh and Pudsey. Good luck to you both in the future.”
