Darker nights spark police warning over burglaries in Lincolnshire
Opportunist thieves may use the darker evenings and long winter nights to break into houses, according to Lincolnshire Police.
Home owners are being warned not to leave their houses in darkness as the clocks change.
It’s because thieves are more likely to think a house is empty if left unlit, especially during the dark winter nights.
Timers can be used to make sure lights or a radio come on when darkness falls.
