Did you see mysterious lights?
Dozens of unidentified flying objects were spotted in the sky over Lincoln at the weekend.
The Echo was inundated with calls after the mysterious orange lights, which hovered for around 20 minutes, were seen by residents across the city.

And so far no-one has been able to come up with an explanation for the paranormal activity.
Engineer Paul Slight (54), from Nettleham, was out for a bike ride with his sister and three friends when they spotted the lights close to West Parade.
"There were about 23 of them and they were dancing around in the sky. They were like small, bright lights that just floated there. It was almost as if they were stuck in a wind current."
Some people who reported the unusual activity said there were as many as a hundred lights in the sky.
Terry Holt (61) was at home with his wife in Hartsholme, Lincoln, when they spotted the glowing objects..
"My wife went out for a cigarette and shouted me to have a look," he said. "They were there for about half-an-hour in groups of four or five.
"I called my friend, who lives in Doddington Park, and he saw them too."
The Ministry of Defence said they would not be investigating the incident.

“How dumb are some people? They're obviously chinese lanterns, i mean course their could be aliens out there but to mistake a chinese lantern for alien spacecraft is just dappy. "It was almost as if they were stuck in a wind current" lol no sh!t. The MOD must have been dealing with people that have gullible written on their forehead all night.”

“We were in Spain 2 weeks ago and saw very similar lights above a mountain range, these lights were visible for about ten minutes then ascened upwards until they were out of sight. There were no vapour trails so dont believe they were any aircraft, way too high for helicopters etc. Unexplainable”

“I saw some strange orbs in the sky about a week ago. Now this might sound crazy, but it's what I saw with my own to eyes. I was outside getting fresh air because I felt sick from the smell of fish. Then I saw them. It was like.. I can't explain. Imagine a HUGE ash of a cigerette, something like that as big as a car, hover in the sky for about 3 minutes, then falling from the sky, flash, and then gone. It was weird, and I believe it was something. I mean, it must of been something. The unviserve is a big place, we surely can not be the only ones out there.”

“Congratulations Clare - would you believe that one of your lanterns was still floating in the air over Middle Rasen on Saturday night. Low enough for us to see that it was a lantern, but still very much airborne!”

“We saw them as far a way as the Lincs Showground and decided to follow them to the West Common to get a good look. Although spectacular they were indeed clearly chinese lanterns. We even watched as they all managed to expire their light over the A46 bypass near to the Carholme Roundabout.”

“We saw the 'mysterious' lights too and were fascinated by them. We had a feeling that they were lanterns lit as part of a celebration or an act or remembrance.
Congratulations on your marraige - your lanterns were stunning.”
