Disabled driver and his wife attacked in road rage incident in Lincoln
A man who threw a disabled driver to the floor over a parking row, then turned on his wife and left her with a broken wrist.
Nigel Skelton, 59, and his wife Sheila, 60, were sitting in their car in Minster Yard, Lincoln, on Remembrance Sunday. They were listening to music as a man returned to a car parked in front of them.

"He just kept staring at us so I opened the window and asked what his problem was," said Mr Skelton.
"He said 'couldn't you get your car in my boot' and he was swearing.

"I told him I wanted to leave space for somebody else to park behind us.
"An argument started and we got out the car but he grabbed me and threw me on to the floor.
"My shirt was ripped from top to bottom and my walking stick went flying."
Mrs Skelton told the man to leave her husband alone because he had a history of strokes.
"He said, 'Why, do you want some too?'" she said.
"Next thing, he grabbed my arm and threw me into the road too.
"A man came over and helped me up and the man who did it to us got in his car and left.
"We got his car registration and phoned the police."
Mrs Skelton saw bruises on her arm but didn't go to the doctors for a couple of days.
She was given an X-ray which found she had a broken wrist. Mrs Skelton then paid a second visit to the doctor who found a another injury, confirmed to be a fracture.
Now Mr Skelton is urging anybody who may have seen the incident to come forward.
"Somebody must have seen what happened, it was quite busy in the area because of Remembrance day," he said.
"It happened so quickly and I couldn't believe what he did.
"It makes me feel sick that this person probably thinks he has got away with it."
"When I was in the road, I saw two clergymen by the cathedral, so somebody must have seen what happened.
"We want to get some justice."
Lincolnshire Police are appealing for anybody with information to come forward.
James Newall, spokesman for the force, said: "The assault allegation was reported to us on November 11.
"We need anyone who witnessed the incident to get in touch with us as soon as possible and they should call Lincolnshire Police on 101 quoting crime reference 3212**49057."

The assailant thought they were parked too close. They were both in the car, saving space for somebody to park behind them.
Miscreant returned to his car, suggesting he wanted to leave.
Mr Skelton could have backed up a bit, then moved forward leaving space for two cars behind him ... ?”

“I accept what Mrs West has said, however along with the registration number there would be the man who came over to assist (a witness at least to the man and car driving off?), possibly CCTV in the vicinity showing his arrival and/or departure or even the incident (should he claim not to have been there), an identification parade should they trace a suspect, the clergymen might also be traced through the Cathedral authorities or event organizers as (presumably attending a Remembrance Sunday event in that specific area), etc etc.”

“unfortunatly these days it takes more than knowing someone registration or address if they've commited a crime. unless there's anyone witnesses it comes down to your word against there's. i was attacked by a dog a few years ago and although i gave a clean description of the owners who hadn't given a dam about what damage their dog had done even though i asked them for help they just put a muzzle back on their dog and walked of. the police took a report i found out were they lived by pure chance the police interviewed them they said they hadn't done it and because there were no witnesses that was the end of it.
no witnesses they wont do anything. i hope the clergymen that sore the incident contact the police and that this couple get justice for the violence they received. its awful.”
