Disgusted by BBC
I IMAGINE that there must be hundreds of thousands of TV Licence-payers like me who have been disgusted by the recent revelations exposed by MP Patricia Hodge MP and the Public Accounts Committee into the unconstit- utional payments made to senior managers at the BBC.
The televised proceedings has left me with the opinion that the BBC is a law unto itself.
I have written to my local MP Mark Simmonds asking two things of him:
1. What action will he personally be taking in order to ensure that there is tighter control of the BBC trust
2. What will he be doing to ensure that when Lord Patten (the Trust's Chairman) eventually leaves his post, that there is absolute scrutiny on any severance or pension payments, so as to guarantee that the interests of licence payers are protected, and his eventual departure does not lead to the sort of disgraceful fiasco we have witnessed of late?
