Donations help others to see the good work
STAFF at Lunettes Opticians of Sleaford supported the 2009 World Sight Day Challenge, raising around £200 for charity in the process.
Organisers behind World Sight Day, which is an annual event where people work together to raise awareness on global blindness and vision impairment, decided this year's theme would centre around women and young girls following reports from fellow charity VISION 2020 that two-thirds of all blind people are female.

World Sight Day 2009 was held on Thursday but Tushar Majithia and his team at Lunettes Opticians offered to service their patients' glasses for a small fee as part of a week-long event, with all donations in aid of the international charity Optometry Giving Sight.
The money raised by the team will help people worldwide who are affected by blindness and visual impairments, and who do not have access to eye care and glasses.
The £200 donation will go towards providing roughly 100 people with an eye exam and a pair of glasses.
Sharon Watson, a member of the Lunettes team, said: "We want to thank all of our patients who kindly donated to the challenge."
