Donington BSB: Alex Lowes roars to another double for Samsung Honda
Alex Lowes will go into the British Superbike Showdown on a wave of momentum after clinching his second winning double in a row at Donington Park.
Fresh from winning both races at Cadwell Park on Bank Holiday weekend, Lowes repeated the feat at the Leicestershire track on his Samsung Honda.
The Lincoln rider withstood huge pressure from reigning champion Shane Byrne in both outings. He won race one by 0.111 seconds, but race two was even closer with 0.058 separating Lowes and Byrne.
The top six riders will now take 500 points, plus their podium credits, into the Showdown, which starts later this month at Assen in the Netherlands.

Meanwhile, in the National Superstock 1000 class, Skellingthorpe’s Lee Jackson continued his fine season with fifth place on his Buildbase BMW.
In the British Supersport Championship, Ben Wilson’s title hopes faded after he finished fourth in Saturday’s sprint race before crashing out of Sunday’s feature event.
