Drivers urged to take care after motorcycle accidents in Lincolnshire
DRIVERS are being urged to take extra care on the roads following recent incidents involving motorcyclists.
The warning follows two crashes in which high-powered bikes visiting the coast, collided with tractor and trailers turning across a carriageway.
In the first incident on the A631 near Gainsborough the rider died, and the rider in the second collision on the A158 near Candlesby last weekend, remains in hospital with serious injuries.
Head of Casualty Reduction, Detective Inspector Rob Grace is appealing for motorists to be extra vigilant.
He said: "We want people to enjoy the county and for all motorists to safely travel on the county's roads, particularly during the summer school holidays and whilst the warm weather is upon us.
"What people must take into account is that we are a large agricultural county with a farming community, and as harvesting has already started there will be large, slower moving machinery travelling on our rural roads."
