EXCLUSIVE: Graham Westley's assistant Dino Maamria shows interest in Lincoln City job
Graham Westley's assistant manager at Stevenage Borough and Preston North End has declared an interest in the vacant Lincoln City job.
Dino Maamria, a former Conference manager of the year, is understood to be keen on succeeding David Holdsworth who left the club by mutual consent yesterday.

Dino Maamria
The Tunisian left League One Preston earlier this month after Westley paid the price for a poor run of results.
But he was a key figure in Stevenage's success as they rose through the Blue Square Bet Premier, before winning promotion to League One.

Maamria was appointed by Westley after a remarkable spell at Northwich Victoria where he saved them from relegation from the Blue Square Bet Premier in 2008.
They were 19 points adrift of safety yet incredibly he managed to steer them free of the drop a feat which won him Conference manager of the year.
Other names in the frame are Gary Simpson, Grant Brown, who is in caretaker charge, and Dean Windass.

“Steveimp, that's incorrect. Maamria joined Northwich in October 2007, and they were 16 games without a win at that point. They then won their first game of the campaign in his second match in-charge. Northwich put an incredible run of results together during the second half of the season, beating Oxford (twice), Stevenage, Crawley etc, to ultimately stay up.
By all accounts, Stevenage were actually really struggling under Westley before Dino was appointed as first-team coach in November 2008. They then went on a 24-match unbeaten run to reach the play-offs that season (as well as win the FA Trophy), before winning the league at a canter the following season. Then they secured back-to-back promotions to League One the season after. One of the only requirements of Westley's when leaving to join Preston was that he could take Dino and Dreyer with him. I think he'd be an excellent appointment for Lincoln, gets on very well with players, knows a lot of people in the game, and also knows how to work with a small budget.”

“He did perform wonders at Northwich but it was a 19 game winless run when he was in charge which put them in that situation, our fans wouldn't cope with that sort of form. He was then sacked the following season after being put on gardening leave. No thanks!”

“The headline is incorrect as Dino Maamria was first team coach at Preston and Stevenage , John Dreyer was Westley's assistant.”
