East Lindsey District Council set council tax rate
COUNCIL Tax payers will pay an extra 2.46 per cent towards services provided by East Lindsey.
East Lindsey District Council set the increase and their budget for 2010/11 at their meeting on Wednesday.
The majority of people living in East Lindsey will see the amount they pay towards the services provided by the authority increase by less than 5p per week.
Overall, an average Band D property in East Lindsey can expect to pay an extra £35.91 in total towards their four precepting authorities. Lincolnshire County Council has precepted a 2.5 per cent increase which amounts to an extra £26.01 for a Band D property, Lincolnshire Police Authority has presepted a 3 per cent increase (£5.22), East Lindsey's 2.46 per cent means a £2.70 increase for a band D property and the average for the parish precepts is 7.02 per cent increase, amounting to a £1.98 increase.
In total, depending on the parish precept for where you live, a band D property will be billed at about £1,387.55 for the 2010/11 council tax – an increase of 2.66 per cent (£35.91) on last year's bill.
In the last year, East Lindsey has shaved off £1million from the running costs and this year's budget aims to save a further £744,000.
