Entries flooding in for Hidden Lincolnshire photography competition
Entries are flying in for the Echo's new photography competition which celebrates Lincolnshire's hidden gems.
We have teamed up with the University of Lincoln to showcase some of the most creative and imaginative snappers from across the county by asking them what Lincolnshire means to them.
And with three iPad 2s up for grabs, budding photographers are picking up their cameras and submitting entries.
The theme for the competition is "hidden Lincolnshire", with judges looking for striking and interesting images that are different to the norm.

From stunning shots of landscapes and iconic buildings to images capturing Lincolnshire's unbridled natural beauty, the Echo has received stacks of entries.
One breathtaking entry submitted by 36-year-old Mick MacDougall, from Lincoln, depicts two horses running across the common on a foggy morning.
"I have always admired horses and think I have managed to capture some of their majesty when on the move," he said.
"The heavy fog added an air of mystery and magic to them as if they were appearing and reappearing out of nowhere.
"As someone born and brought up in Lincoln but who has lived away for a long period of time, the city still holds a feeling of wonder that sadly, from familiarity, I feel local residents lose in time."
There are three age categories – 14 to 16, 16 to 18 and 18-plus – so there's plenty of opportunity for teenagers and adults alike to bag one of the prizes.
Whether you are eight years old or 80, Ken Evans, the university's marketing and communications manager, urged photographers to keep submitting their entries.
"The competition is open for adults and teenagers, so it's going to be really interesting to see what Lincolnshire means to the different age groups," he said.
"Hidden Lincolnshire could be something related to architecture, business, people or landscape – it really is wide open and we want each photographer to interpret it in their own unique and creative way.
"The judges are going to be looking out for individuality and an imaginative edge. It's about finding something out of the ordinary that you wouldn't usually see from a different angle."
Entrants to the competition are asked to provide a 30-word caption for their photograph, as well as their name, age, address and also their contact details.
The deadline for entries is Tuesday, November 27, and can be submitted by e-mailing photocontest@lincolnshiremedia.co.uk
Submitted images must be the photographer's own and taken within the last 12 months. They should be submitted in a JPEG format and be a minimum size of 1MB.
A longlist of finalists will be published in our Picture This supplement on November 29.
The winners will be announced in the December 27 issue of the Echo.
