Esther's praise for adult charity
TELEVISION presenter Esther Rantzen has praised Sleaford-based community care provider Adults Supporting Adults (ASA) at a recent event put on by the organisation.
The star, who is the founder of child protection charity Childline, was invited to the event which took place in Lincoln earlier this month to talk about her experience with community services and her plans to launch an adult support service.
Ms Rantzen said: "ASA are the patchwork of provision provided by the third sector with brilliant, innovative, niche projects, tailored absolutely to the clients' needs empowering clients to set the agenda.
"Imagine this wasn't a patchwork – imagine it was how we delivered social care, country-wide."

ASA, based at Sleaford Business Park, provide community services for people over the age of 18 who have a learning or physical disability, sensory impairment, lived experience of mental illness or people with dementia and who require support to live in the community.
Other speakers at the event included the chairman of ASA, Keith Phillips; Nick Boles, the MP for Grantham and Stamford; Ursula Lidbetter, Chief Executive of Lincolnshire Co-op; Trixie Bennett, Chief Executive of ASA; and Jane Marshall from PACT (prevention and avoidance community team).
In Mr Boles' speech he congratulated Trixie Bennett and the entire team at ASA.
He said: "Society would be intolerable without the third sector, especially those who deliver on a local level – they are the big society now."
