Man pleads guilty to burning to bin liner full of ex-girlfriend's belongings in street
A MAN set his ex-girlfriend's belongings on fire in the street, a court heard.
John Robert Metcalfe, 28, pleaded guilty to arson at Lincoln Magistrates' Court yesterday.

The court heard following the break-down of a six-year relationship, Metcalfe sent a text to his ex saying: "Can you smell it? You lied too many times.
"You can collect your stuff from the roadside near your house, it's there now."
It transpired he had set a black bin liner alight in Thesiger Street, Lincoln.
Marie Stace, prosecuting, said Metcalfe, of Ripon Street, Lincoln, sent a further text saying: "Did you get your stuff OK? Did you have to brush it off the road?"
Andrew Kerrigan mitigating said: "In a moment of anger he goes and carries out a very foolish act."
The case was adjourned for probation reports. Metcalfe was released on conditional bail.
