The expansion of a Lincoln hotel has created five jobs.

The Old Palace, in Minster Yard, now incorporates the former St Michael on the Mount Church and more staff are needed to help the business cope with increased bookings.

Three new posts were created – a reception supervisor, conference and banqueting supervisor and a sous chef.

The former Victorian church was renamed The Old Palace Lodge in July last year following a refurbishment, which added a further 16 bedrooms and better conference facilities.

Manager Sonja Brockman said: "Previously, the rooms at The Old Palace were only available for hire as part of our wedding or conference packages but since we started operating as a hotel we've seen a significant increase in bookings."

The deadline for applications for the sous chef post is 10am on March 4, while for the reception supervisor, conference and banqueting supervisor and front of house assistants, it is 10am on March 11.
