Fan's tattoo tribute to Michael Jackson
A music fan has demonstrated his devotion to tragic pop star Michael Jackson with a tattoo of him on his arm.
Like millions of fans across the world, Carlo Benetello (22), of Buttery Close, off Doddington Road, Lincoln, is shocked and saddened at Jacko's untimely death last Thursday aged 50.

So, Mr Benetello took the brave step of having his first ever tattoo done in the music legend's memory.
He stepped into Eternal Tattoos, in Wragby Road, with a picture of Michael and after an hour under the needle he emerged with his own permanent six-inch tribute.
"The tattoo is black and white and it shows Michael Jackson in his Smooth Criminal period," said Mr Benetello, a joiner.
"As it is my first tattoo I was nervous about having it done but I'm really pleased with it.
"I remember I was so upset when I heard he had died.
"I was so upset when I heard he had died. I'd been to a friend of mine's and on the way back I heard the news on the radio.
"His death is still very upsetting but if anything positive has come out of it, it's renewed my passion for his music and you just realise how good he was when he was at his peak."
Mr Benetello revealed that he has been a fan since the age of six and had tickets to see the King of Pop at London's O2 arena in August.

“Yvonne - the tattoo shops you know then are obviously the cheap and nasty ones!
Any reputable tattoo shop will work by appointment only - that's the sign of a shop that prides itself on doing good work rather than just making money.
It's similar as Lynn says, to hairdressers. The cheap and lower class ones you can just walk right in and get a mop-chop. But the good ones you need to make an appointment.
When tattoos last forever, you really should only be looking at a reputable tattoo shop.”

“So a gary glitter fan might get a tattoo of him. Why does adulation obscure peoples thinking.”

“As tattoos go it's hideous, not the design or even the idea - but the fact it stands away from the arm means that the tattooist responsible doesn't know much about shading.
A good tattooist (of which there is only one in Lincoln - everyone who needs to know knows who it is!) should charge about £40-£60 for a 2 hour session.
I have seen worse tattoos - but not many.”

“Deleted yet again Martin, but not before quite alot of posters had read it. Maybe you can tell me how much a tattoo like this costs, I've no idea, and i.m curious.”

“Martin - Maybe they'd had a cancellation, you know, pop in off the street like you can at some Hairdressers. Maybe buisiness isn't what it was with this credit crunch etc. I'd love to know how much it cost. I don't usually like tatoos, especially on women, but this one looks classy.”

“The tattoo must have been gotten before MJ died, you simply cannot walk into a tattoo studio and get one, you have to book an appointment in advance.”

“Mr Benetello is obviously a real fan.
He has every right to have his tattoo without being 'got at' for it.”

“Ah, now I see Martin. Yes, you've got me there - your system of justice sounds much better than the one that is employed by the rest of the free world. Let's hope nobody ever accuses you or yours of anything that can't be subsequently proven in court. Particularly if you have a few quid in the bank and they see pound (or dollar) signs in their eyes.”
