Farmers are blamed for 'the big stink'
A foul odour that plagued a Lincolnshire town has finally receded.
The authorities investigated the smell around North Hykeham after complaints from the public.
After no single source was found the matter was discussed at a town council meeting. North Kesteven District Council now says the odour appears to have been caused by multiple farms spreading products on their fields.
Wallace Lee, chairman of North Hykeham Town Council's environment committee, said the weather had been a factor.
