Man watched friend die in motorbike tragedy
A motorcyclist has told a jury in Lincoln how he watched helplessly as a car pulled out of a junction straight into the path of his workmate's bike.
John Kerton told a jury at Lincoln Crown Court that the fatal smash which took the lives of his friend Michael Rowley, 41, and Michael's 14-year-old son Jonathan occurred as they rode their machines on the outskirts of Gainsborough heading to a weekend bikers' rally at Skegness.

Mr Kerton, from Macclesfield, whose own son Jake, 14, was riding pillion passenger, said that he was riding his Honda machine just behind Mr Rowley's Kawasaki 1100 along the A631.
He told the jury that as he approached the Corringham Road junction he noticed a car coming from the side road towards the dual carriageway.
"I kept my eye on the car but just carried on normally," he said.
"The car came towards the junction and stopped. Then it came out in front of us. It just started pulling out. Everything went very fast from there."
Both Mr Kerton and his son were injured but survived. Michael Rowley and Jonathan, who both lived in Rotherham, were killed.
The driver of the car Syed Raza later claimed he was forced to edge onto the main road to get a better view because his vision was obscured by bollards. At the time he had set off from his workplace nearby to purchase milk.
He denies he was responsible for the collision.
Raza, 28, formerly of Newland Street West, Lincoln, but currently living in Pakistan denies two charges of causing death by dangerous driving on 20 April 2007.
The trial is proceeding in his absence as he is remains in Pakistan after returning home to attend a family wedding.
The jury has heard that his visa expired while he was in Pakistan and he has since been refused a visa to return to the UK to stand trial.
The hearing continues.
