Two of the ECB Premier League's biggest hitters will go head to head tomorrow with the coveted all-time season's batting record on the line.

Record-holder and captain of Bracebridge Heath Mark Fell will lead his newly-crowned champions out at Woodhall Spa's Jubilee Park for their final match of the season.

And waiting in the wings at Woodhall Spa will be opening batsman Andrew Crook, who is closing in on Fell's superb 1,187-run record set last season.

Crook is just 69 runs short of beating the target set by Fell and, with six half-centuries and four centuries, another big innings tomorrow will give the former Northamptonshire batsman record figures.

"Breaking the record is definitely something I would want to achieve, so I will be going for it," said Crook.

"But at the end of the day, it could rain and I will miss out, or I could get a snick early on and I will miss out – I am not going to lose any sleep over it.

"If I do happen to beat the record, I might have a little smile on my face, but, to be honest I would have preferred the team to have won the title.

"I am a little disappointed that this didn't come around a bit sooner. I had a couple of weeks when I hit low scores which means it comes down to just one more game to hit a big score."

Meanwhile Fell, who has led his side to their seventh Premier Division title in succession, says he has no intention of making tomorrow's match all about the batting record.

"I will be focused on making sure Bracebridge win the game tomorrow, not what is happening with the batting record," he said.

"If he (Crook) scores well tomorrow and beats my record then good luck to him.

"We will be trying to get him out along with all the other Woodhall batsmen, but if he breaks the record, then he will have deserved it.

"He is a very good player, he has played first class cricket with Northants so if the record goes, it goes.

"My priority is making sure we finish the season off with a win."
