Foodie feel at St Barnabas
There's a distinct foodie feel to several events planned in aid of St Barnabas this month.
Firstly, the special guest speaker at the first St Barnabas Gainsborough Hospice Charity Lunch will be BBC Radio Lincolnshire's Judy Theobald, it has been announced.
Being held at the Weston Rooms in the town on October 24, the event will include a three-course meal.
(The St Barnabas Charity Lunch will be held at noon. Tickets: £20pp. Book by calling the fundraising office on 01522 540300 for an invitation leaflet.)
The charity is also calling on residents to organise their own It's A Piece Of Cake event throughout October.
Whether it's a cake sale or bake off, a tea party, coffee morning or an afternoon tea, once you know what you want to do simply pick a date in October then encourage your friends, family, work colleagues, classmates and neighbours to join in. Funds raised will go towards supporting local people and their families living with a life limiting illness.
It's A Piece Of Cake is being championed by Lincolnshire award-winning chef Rachel Green and as part of the campaign there will be special events during National Hospice Care Week on October 7-13 at day therapy centres across the county.
(Obtain your It's A Piece Of Cake pack by calling 01522 540300 or e-mail fundraising@ stbarnabashospice.co.uk
