Free digital and social media workshops for businesses in Boston
BUSINESSES in Boston are being offered the chance to kick-start their online presence with a series of free workshops.
The Internet, Social Media and Your Business sessions will include an overview of online services and digital software, practical assessments and one-to-one reviews on how businesses are using the internet.

GURU: Internet expert John Popham
The sessions will be run by online expert and social media guru John Popham and the first takes place on January 29 at Boston Enterprise Park between 1pm and 4pm
Stuart McFarlane, director at CDI Alliance, said: "The workshops are free and the only outlay needed is your time. Committing just a few hours of your time could benefit your business massively as you will come away knowing how you can improve your company's global profile and presence online."

The first session will give an overview of how the internet can transform business, demonstrating different broadband capabilities, possibilities and opportunities, including social media.
The second session is a chance to apply the skills learned in the first workshop in people's own time, with work being monitored remotely, while the third is a review of that practical work and a chance to learn about digital software available.
The fourth session will be a one-to-one review of the business and the way the internet is used, which will be done at individual appointment times in the same location where the workshops are held.
The sessions are being introduced following similar successful courses in November which were also run by John Popham. Companies benefiting from those sessions ranged from a photographer who had been sceptical about social media and has now increased business through Facebook, a hypnotherapist who treats patients remotely using video conferencing and a farmer who now uses a Wireless Broadband Extender (WiBE) to input data in the field.
Spaces are limited to 12 delegates per programme, so early booking is advisable. To make a booking on The Internet, Social Media and Your Business, visit the events section at www.onlincolnshire.org
