Friendly service puts Boston caravan park among the elite
THE family owners of a Boston caravan park are celebrating after winning a five star rating from VisitEngland, putting them among the elite of UK holiday providers.
The award for Friendly service puts Boston caravan park among the elite in Old Leake comes just a year after the business was taken over by husband and wife team John and Tracey Plant.
The couple, who are life-long caravanners themselves, both quit their jobs in order to gamble on turning the park into a perfect adults-only destination for holidaymakers.
John had a successful career in IT management, and Tracey worked as a teaching assistant.

He said: “We are absolutely delighted to receive this award from VisitEngland just a year after coming to the park, and our five-star status will definitely help bring in even more visitors.
“The award places a good deal of emphasis on customer service and the friendliness of the park, and this is something we have tried to make a special feature.
“Tourism is very important to this part of Lincolnshire, so I hope that many other local businesses will also feel the benefit of our achievement.”
Since taking over the three-acre park, both have invested much time and energy into upgrading the surroundings with a special emphasis on conserving and enhancing the natural environment.
Long Acres plays host to a wide variety of flora and fauna, and John and Tracey have created conservation buffer zones around the park's perimeter to provide wildlife habitats.
Their work has been rewarded with a substantial increase this year in the number of visitors to the 40 pitches provided for the owners of touring caravans, motor homes and tents.
Now they are also able to boast the highest possible quality grade from England's tourist board.
The five-star accolade followed an unannounced visit from a VisitEngland inspector who undertook a detailed assessment of the standard of facilities and services available.
Also under scrutiny was the general atmosphere of the park, the quality of upkeep, the welcome given to guests, and helpfulness of staff.
In every respect, VisitEngland concluded, Long Acres delivered an outstanding visitor experience.
