A VILLAGE pub was burgled and fruit machines smashed to obtain cash.

The Blacksmiths Arms in Sleaford Road, Bracebridge Heath, was broken into overnight on September 30/October 1.

The fruit machines were attacked and the contents stolen.

The till was emptied of cash and money stolen from a charity bottle.

It is the third pub that has been burgled since September.

The Echo reported that the Harrows Inn, in Lincoln Road, North Hykeham, was targeted by thieves overnight on September 28/29.

They also trashed fruit machines and stole money from them.

The Lincoln Green pub, also in Lincoln Road, was broken into under similar circumstance on September 15.

Police are now warning pubs to be vigilant and consider investing in security measures.
