Fund-raiser for war memorial plan
A series of events have been planned in Lincolnshire to raise funds for a new Bomber Command memorial.
The events are being hosted by the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, based at RAF Coningsby.
It is in honour of the national campaign to have a memorial for the men of Bomber Command who were based in the county during the Second World War built in London.
There is already a memorial for those who lost their lives at Lincoln Cathedral.
The first event will be an art exhibition by David Shepherd, many of which have been commissioned by the RAF.
It will be held on June 29 until July 3.
A painting of Mr Shepherd's called Elephants In Front Of Mount Kilimanjaro will also be donated as a raffle prize.
Tickets for the show will cost £10 and £8.
Then a banquet on Friday, July 3 will be held at the Petwood Hotel in Woodhall Spa, the original officers' mess of the Dambusters.
Tickets for the banquet cost £100.
