Gainsborough Town set the standard in the Challenge Cup
Gainsborough Town got their Challenge Cup campaign off to a winning start against Horncastle.
Meanwhile, Boston United Reserves climbed to the top of the Lincolnshire League with a tidy win at Ruston Sports in Lincoln.

After a goalless first half Lee Bognar opened the scoring for Gainsborough when he headed home Hutchinson's cross.
Bognar went on to complete his hat-trick before Daniel Martin headed home number four.
CGB Humbertherm 2 Nettleham 4
Joshua Bowden's hat-trick took his tally to eight goals from six games as Nettleham progressed into Round Three of the Challenge Cup.
Luke Jennings was also on target for the Nettles.
Liam Wilkinson and Daniel Trott were the scorers for the home team.

Chris Nicholls's first goal of the season was enough to take the Lilywhites through to the quarter finals.
The victory completed a league and cup double over Hykeham and set up a last eight tie at either Boston United Reserves or Lincoln United Reserves.

The Pilgrims followed their 6-4 midweek success over Skegness Town with a comfortable win at Rustons.
Striker Charley Sanders scored twice and fellow front man Jordan Nuttell netted the other goal.
Rustons took an early lead through Gavin Mackie, but United levelled in the eighth minute when Sanders scored his first of the afternoon.
Five minutes later Nuttell gave the visitors the lead and Sanders completed the scoring before half-time.

Boston Town Reserves opened their Sills and Betteridge Lincs League account with victory by the odd goal in three at Tattershall Road.
Josh Mountain and Gavin Gregory were on target for the Poachers, while Alex Mumby netted for the Railmen.

John Waugh's hat-trick took his season's tally to seven as Borough's second string hit Louth for six.
Jack Stevens, Luke Fanthorpe and James Stewart were also on target for the home side.
Ed Cope and David Pawson found the back of the net for Louth.
