Trinity boss Steve Housham is quietly building a squad he believes will finish the job he has started.

The latest acquisition to the Gainsborough Trinity rosta is 20-year-old left back Josh Wilde who has signed for the club on a one-year deal from Evo-Stik League Premier Division outfit Buxton FC.

While delighted to get his man, who was voted Buxton's players' player of the season, Housham admits he is not yet finished and there could be more additions likely to come through the door at the Northolme before the start of the new season.

"We were trying to get Josh in last season, but it didn't work out for us," said Housham.

"He is an attack-minded full-back and has good pace and a great delivery.

"He is another talented young player who has committed himself to Gainsborough and he will fit into the squad very well. We are delighted to get him."

Housham has also been boosted following the confirmation that Shane Clarke has signed for another year at the Northolme.

The former Lincoln City man was a constant feature of Housham's midfield last season and formed an important partnership with Jonathan D'Laryea in the centre of the park.

"We are really pleased that Shane has signed on for another year," Housham added.

"Shane does not have another job, football is his livelyhood so he had to be sure it was the right deal for him.

"He was excellent for us last season, but did have a bad time with injuries. I believe we will see even more from Shane Clarke next season."
