Gainsborough Trinity set to lose appeal against FA Cup expulsion
Gainsborough Trinity appear to have lost their appeal to be reinstated into the FA Cup.
The club were kicked out of the competition this week by the Football Association for fielding an ineligible player in Jordan Thomas.
The club insisted they had sent the paperwork to confirm the loan for Thomas from Lincoln City before the noon deadline the day before their tie against Rushall Olympic.
However, the FA said they did not receive it.

With no paperwork in place for Thomas the club were axed this week. However, Trinity lodged an appeal insisting they had done the registration by the book.
Officials from Trinity have today been meeting the FA at Wembley Stadium in London.
The Echo understands that Trinity have not been reinstated.
Trinity were due to play Stockport County at Edgeley Park on Saturday in the next round of the competition.
