Galatia gets behind local toy appeal
Local children in the Lincolnshire town of Gainsborough, who might not be as fortunate as other youngsters, were able to look forward to some special gifts this Christmas thanks to generous donations from Galatia - An Acis Willmott Dixon Partnership.
Employees from Galatia got into the Christmas spirit by donating a large batch of gifts to the local Salvation Army toy appeal. The appeal encourages people to donate new or unwrapped presents to the Salvation Army so that children who are less fortunate are able to celebrate the joy of opening gifts on Christmas Day.
Kathryn Murdoch, Customer and Community Officer at Galatia, said: "It has been an absolute pleasure to be involved in the toy appeal. Donations from staff came in thick and fast and it felt great to be able to make such a significant contribution to families in the area. We've been blown away by the work that the Salvation Army puts in to make Christmas a special day for those who have little or not as much as others. Throughout the year we are committed to contributing to the local community wherever we can but at Christmas, more than ever, it's particularly important to us to get together with local organisations like the Salvation Army to support those who are less fortunate."
The Salvation Army works very closely with local agencies, churches and many other groups to ensure fair distribution of the toys donated to the appeal.

Gwen Avery, of Gainsborough Salvation Army, said: "We're delighted with Galatia's contributions to our Christmas toy appeal. They've been really hands on throughout the process and particularly generous with their gift donations. Support like this is vital to ensure that children who might not have as much as others don't go without this Christmas. We cannot thank Galatia enough for their help."
