I personally think that one or two of you out there, are making Smith a bit of a scapegoat at the moment. If he can defend, then that would be seen as a bonus. Bit like Mata and Hazard at Chelsea, they are not known for tracking back. We also don't know what the manager has instructed him to do either, he may well instruct him not to track back!

As fans if we're going to abuse our own players just for coming on the pitch, we desrve to go down. We are all in this together and it's time the fans showed some solidarity with the management and the team. We all have an opinion on what team should play, but it's the manager's job to pick the team each week.

Will there be calls for the Grimsby manager's head now? They have now lost to Nuneaton and Macclesfield this season. Or has he been saved by beating Wrexham earlier in the season as this is the bench mark by which we judge a man apparently.
