Gary Simpson: We have the best fans in this division
Gary Simpson has paid the ultimate compliment to Lincoln City supporters, insisting he would not swap them.
Almost 500 Imps fans travelled with the team for Saturday’s 2-2 draw at Nuneaton Town and the City boss acknowledged their input and claimed they are the best in the division.
“I wouldn’t swap our supporters for any other team’s supporters in this division,” he said.
“They have been absolutely terrific. When you come out on to the pitch and see them behind the goal and what have you it’s just fantastic. If the players don’t want to play in front of that then there’s something wrong with them."

Simpson watched his side start disappointingly against the Skrill Premier’s second placed team, going behind to a Wes York header after just three minutes.
But despite the early setback, the travelling City fans roused their team, who went on to earn a 2-2 draw.
“When they are behind us it’s terrific. We went 1-0 down in the first couple of minutes on Saturday and the fans never stopped singing and they never stopped backing us,” Simpson added.
“When we got the goal to go in front it was terrific, but they were terrific in my last spell at Lincoln as well, so I have never known any different here to be honest.”
