GEORGIE Twigg made a huge impact in England's first match of the Women's Hockey World Cup, playing a key role in one of her team's goals during a 3-2 victory against Spain.

Making an appearance from the substitutes' bench, Twigg found stopper Laura Unsworth who, in turn, set up Boston-born Crista Cullen for England's second goal.

Despite being out-played for large parts of the game, goals from Alex Danson, Cullen and Susie Gilbert allowed coach Danny Kerry's side to claim victory in their opening game of the tournament, which is being held in Argentina.

England's next match in Pool B is against Olympic silver-medallists China. The game will take place tomorrow at 6.30pm (UK time).
