Grantham and Stamford MP Nick Boles claiming rent on expenses
Stamford and Grantham MP Nick Boles is one of more than 300 MPs claiming rent on expenses.
The planning minister rents a property in Stamford from Burghley House Preservation Trust.
New rules now ban MPs from claiming expenses for mortgages - but still allows them to claim for rent.
MPs claiming rent costs the taxpayer more than £1m a year.
Elected MP for Grantham and Stamford in 2010, Mr Boles has come under fire both nationally and locally in recent months.
First he called for pensioners to be means-tested for benefits such as winter fuel allowances and free bus passes and then it was revealed he claimed £678.80 expenses for Hewbrew language lessons - after entering into a civil partnership with Israeli Shay Meshulam last year.
Mr Boles was unavailable for comment.
