Three winners will receive prizes and have their images displayed at the Lincoln Photo & Optics show on Wednesday, November 6 – in front of around 1,000 visitors.
The event gives people the chance to try out the latest equipment, speak to experts and exchange gear at a used camera marketplace.
Dave Riley, manager at London Camera Exchange, said he was pleased with the level of interest people had shown in the contest since it was opened on October 1.
"It's great to see such a wide variety of themes in the entries we've had so far," he said.
"The competition has a very broad subject matter of nature and wildlife and it's great that people are embracing what that means."
People are being asked to enter one photo each via email, remembering to include their names and daytime phone numbers.
After the first week of submissions, the Lincoln branch of London Camera Exchange will begin to upload the photos it receives to its Facebook page.
Award-winning wildlife photographer Danny Green will pick the eventual winners.
The first prize is a workshop with Danny Green.
Second place will receive a signed print from the photographer and third place will get a £50 voucher for London Camera Exchange.
The camera show, which is now in its tenth year, is being held at Lincoln Drill Hall, in Free School Lane.
Competition entries should be submitted to firstname.lastname@example.org.
