More than half of all county Asbos are breached, figures reveal

MORE than half of all anti-social behaviour orders (Asbos) have been breached in Notts, new figures have revealed.

The Home Office has published details of the number of Asbos issued up to 2008. In Notts, 54 per cent of Asbos have been breached since figures began to be recorded in 2000.

The national average is 55 per cent.

There were 70 Asbos issued at courts in Notts in 2008, compared to 84 in 2007.

There were 2,027 Asbos issued across England and Wales in 2008, compared to 2,299 in 2007.

A total of 59 Asbos were issued to men in Notts in 2008, compared to 73 in 2007.

Asbos went to 11 females in 2008, the same number as the previous year.

Between June 1, 2000 and December 31, 2008, there have been 128 breaches by 10 to 17-year-olds and 129 breaches by over-18s.

In total, there have been 480 Asbos issued in Notts between April 1, 1999 and December 31, 2008.
