Gainsborough Trinity will consider themselves unfortunate to be behind at half time in the Lincolnshire derby.

In a scrappy opening, the two teams cancelled each other out with very few chances created. After 24 minutes, though, all that changed. A defensive mix-up allowed Ben Milnes to surge into the Trinity area and place a low shot into the corner to give his side the lead against the run of play.

The goal brought a reaction from the Trinity players, and urged on by their manager Seteve Housham on the side-lines, the Blues began to put pressure on the Boston rear guard.

Chances for Darryn Stamp and Mark Jones came and went with Trinity unrewarded. Simon Russell also got the crowd on their feet with a rasping 25-yarder.
