superb pass from Luke Waterfall. The veteran striker got to the ball
just before Carl Pentney and lifted the ball over the visiting keeper.
The two goals were evidence this was a very open start to the game, with
Trinity missing a host of early chances. Jamie Yates fired into the
side netting and Simon Russell hit a shot just over the bar from the
edge of the area. Waterfall was another Blue to go close, but his header
was cleared off the line.
Jason White kept the scores level on 23 minutes with a spectacular save
from Ricky Sappleton'd free-kick. Stortford threatened again three
mintues before half time but Brian Woodhall's low drive went through the
crowded Trinity area without getting the required touch as the half
ended all square.
