Hartsholme toppled Lincolnshire League leaders Alkborough off their perch with a superb 125-run victory at the weekend.

This sees the battle for the championship take another twist, with second-placed Haxey and new leaders Cleethorpes 2nds both claiming wins.

Hartsholme's great run continued when an unbeaten century by Nathan Poundall helped them beat Alkborough.

A six-wicket haul from Sri Lankan Chin Perera was a key factor in Haxey's defeat of lowly Bracebridge Heath 2nds, while Cleethorpes 2nds – having bowled out bottom-placed Broughton for only 85 – raced to a 10-wicket victory in just 7.1 overs.

In Division One, Cherry Willingham inflicted defeat on fellow promotion hopefuls Nettleham 2nds – Lee Coupland hitting an undefeated half-century for the victors.

Leaders Scunthorpe Town saw their hopes of securing a Premier Division spot next season suffer a setback with a six-wicket reverse away to improving Outcasts.

But, at the other end of the table, Alkborough 2nds failed to raise their hopes of avoiding relegation, losing by three wickets at home to Appleby-Frodingham 2nds.

In Division Two, Hykeham's lead was cut after they failed to take full points while beating Market Rasen – but a seven-wicket haul from Zane Siddiqui ensured second-placed Louth 2nds took the full 20 in a crushing defeat of Owmby.

The big battle at the other end of the table ended in victory for Hartsholme 2nds over Holton-le-Clay 2nds, while Keelby's concerns continued after conceding 252 runs in the field while losing to Cleethorpes 4ths.

Clear Division Three leaders Haxey 2nds – bolstered by five wickets from captain Gary Mann – whitewashed lowly Cherry Willingham 2nds by 10 wickets.

Second-in-the-table Outcasts sewed up a comfortable six-wicket win at Hibaldstow and third-placed Barton Town 2nds did likewise at home to Caistor 3rds, whose relegation worries remain very real.

Despite a six-wicket return from veteran John Indian, Keelby 2nds also stay in the danger zone after losing at Scunthorpe Town 2nds.

The high-scoring, mid-table encounter between Immingham Blossom Way and Broughton 2nds produced four half-centuries with the Humber Port side sailing home by 72 runs.

Division Four leaders Washingborough waltzed to a 10-wicket win at Hykeham 2nds, while an undefeated 80 from the aptly-named Jim Fish helped Grimsby side Stamford Homes beat Morton.

South Kelsey 2nds pressed their case for promotion by defeating Scunthorpe Town 3rds and Old Lincolnians did likewise against Brigg Town.

Market Rasen 2nds remain in the re-election zone alongside Brigg, following a nine-wicket reverse at the hands of Alford 2nds.
