Head injury fears after star's death
A LAWYER is urging people to protect themselves against head injuries, after the death of actress Natasha Richardson.
Sally-Ann Robinson, a partner and specialist brain injury lawyer at Langleys Solicitors in Lincoln, said cyclists and horse riders should consider their safety by wearing helmets.
Mrs Robinson is also a committee member of the Lincolnshire branch of Headway, the national brain injury association.
"Natasha Richardson's death from a brain injury following a skiing accident is a great tragedy," she said.
"Our hearts go out to her family and all those connected with the incident.
"I see first hand the devastating effects of an injury to the brain which can threaten life itself or result in major physical, cognitive and emotional and behaviour difficulties.
"Skiers, snowboarders, cyclists and horse riders are among those at risk."
Headway Lincolnshire is hosting a drop-in support session at the Healthy Hub in Beaumont Fee, Lincoln on Tuesday, April 7 from 10am to 1pm.
