A charity blighted by vandals is moving to new premises – and needs public help to spruce up the site.

Now Strut In The Community is appealing for kind-hearted painters, decorators and builders to help make the new headquarters feel like home.

Currently in Wragby Road, the Strut offices have been broken in to about nine times since 2003 and are becoming increasingly cramped because of the charity's growth.

Strut In The Community shop co-ordinator Sue Booth said: "These new premises are going to be so much more secure and they are going to look better and have better parking.

"The security at the back will be much better and so will the internal security systems."

The new headquarters, on the Outer Circle Road, will also provide better offices and play areas for the charity.

Mrs Booth said: "This is going to be a fabulous move.

"For the children we have been given two huge rooms from St Francis' Special School and an external play area which is really going to help us and be fabulous for the children."

For more on the move, see Thursday's Echo.
