High-speed thrills and spills a must for motorsport fans
F1 2013. PS3 (reviewed), Xbox 360, PC. Publisher: Codemasters. Rating: 8/10
For the first time in seven years players of the official Formula 1 game can now get behind the wheel not only of the current crop of hypercars but also a selection of cars from the sport's past, some would say heyday, too. You can take your 1986 Lotus 98T out for a spin on an authentically recreated 1980s Brands Hatch circuit or drive Nigel Mansell's 1988 Williams FW12 at Jerez in Spain.
While the regular version of the game gives you five classic 1980s cars and drivers, players who opt to buy the classic edition of the game will also get six classic 1990s cars and drivers into the bargain. Among these are Eddie Irvine's 1999 F399 and Damon Hill's 1996 Williams FW18.
Taking these extremely accurately replicated cars around the track, it's not long before you develop a new found respect for the drivers who were able to handle their wild combination of low grip and massive power.

Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 Remix. PS3 (reviewed). Publisher: Square Enix. Rating: 7/10
This dreamy melding of Disney and Final Fantasy characters was first released to critical acclaim on the venerable PS2 and now appears here in its Final Mix form with extra scenes and now a complete HD makeover. You play Sora, a small boy with a very big key who's pitted against the forces of darkness albeit with the dubious aid of Donald Duck, Goofy, Jiminy Cricket and other animated favourites.
You wander about controlling Sora in third person defeating the evil Heartless creatures, summoning the aid of your friends, unlocking doors, grabbing items and gently pursuing the storyline. The original had a very Alice in Wonderland feel to it and Kingdom Hearts Final Mix, one of two games present in this package, takes this concept still further. Everything is a little disorientating until you find your feet and begin to get a grip on what's happening. The other game, Re:Chain of Memories, is a remaster of a remake of a Gameboy Advance Kingdom Hearts title and while the gameplay is different it follows a similar unreal theme to Final Mix. As a bonus, you also get a film made up of the cinematics from Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days, a Nintendo DS game.
