Horncastle's official Diamond Jubilee beacon takes shape in Scrivelsby Park
HORNCASTLE'S official beacon to mark the Queen's Diamond Jubilee is already taking shape.
The beacon in the north part of Scrivelsby Park will be lit as part of Horncastle's four-day celebration of the Jubilee.
It will be lit at 10pm on Monday, June 4 with the event hosted by Colonel John Dymoke.
There will be 2,012 beacons lit in sequence from 10pm nationally and the Queen will light the National Beacon in London.

Councillor Bill Aron, Horncastle Jubilee working group events co-ordinator went out to see how the construction of the beacon was progressing and met Francis and Gail Dymoke and also Andy Payton who is helping with the preparations at Scrivelsby.
The official beacon lighting will be followed by a fireworks display, music and a licensed bar and hot dogs provided by Horncastle Lions.
Event organisers have now squeezed in an extra event into the busy four day programme.
A roller disco for children and families will take place at Stanhope Hall on Friday, June 1. There will be two sessions from 5.30pm to 7.30pm and 8pm to 10pm. A Jubilee walk around Scrivelsby, also part of the Wolds Walking Festival on Monday, June 4 is almost full.
Already 250 people booked on the guided walk. There are a few places left and its strictly first come first served and must be pre-booked by ringing Gail Dymoke on 01507 522337.
