The new menu booklets also provide patients with additional information in relation to the food on offer and show a 14-day menu to enable them to plan their choices ahead.
A hospital spokesman said: "The new menu was developed in conjunction with catering managers, dietitians, speech therapists and patient representatives to ensure it is suitable and accessible for everyone.
"We have introduced some new menu items at the request of the patients including roast lamb as well as offering a new selection of alternative menus including gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan selections.
"In addition the new menu card has got a space for patients to comment on the meal service.
"This means we will be able to find out about any issues of concern regarding the meal service and visit the patient while they are an inpatient to address any problems."
He added the next stage will be to introduce a pictorial menu for patients who cannot read or who do not speak English.
