House to host weekend of retro
Visitors to Belton House will be able to revel in retro during a Vintage and Collectables Fair on Saturday and Sunday, August 17-18.
Period music from the 1920s, 30s and 40s from singer Marina Mae, will be performed in the stableyard alongside a mix of stalls.
Bringing a market atmosphere to the National Trust venue, vintage and craft accessories for the home and garden will be on offer.
The event will also be an opportunity for families to try their hand at traditional garden games, such as croquet which will be enjoyed during the weekend on the East Lawn.
Visitors are invited to turn up in their classic and vintage vehicles and join a display parking area as well – just to the south west of the house.
Admission to the grounds will be discounted for those arriving in classic and vintage vehicles with a special 'two for the price of one' rate.
Event organiser Mary Kindred says: "We hope that people will enter into the spirit and dress up in 20s, 30s and 40s style and enjoy the slower pace of life that a day at Belton offers."
