Hundreds sign up for Lincoln bike hire scheme
Almost 400 people have registered to use bikes in the first month of a new hire scheme in Lincoln.
Since being launched on Friday, August 23, the initiative has seen 324 cycles rented.
And Lincolnshire County Council, the authority behind the idea, says 374 people have signed up.
Forty bikes are available from eight locations in the city including, Lincoln Central and Hykeham train stations, Brayford Pool and the LN6 business parks including Teal Park.
Called hirebike, the scheme is part of Access LN6 - a multi-million pound programme aimed at increasing sustainable transport options in the LN6 postcode area.
It is free to become a hirebike member but people are asked to add a minimum of £5 credit on registration.
Bikes are free for the first 30 minutes of every rental and then cost £1 per hour.
The price is capped at £4 for a full day.
The most popular hirebike station is at Brayford Pool followed by Birchwood Avenue.
