Paul Cook hit 127 for Lincolnshire yesterday at Grantham.
However, to do that they need fellow title rivals Suffolk to draw or lose against Cumberland at Sedbergh.
The Imp County had managed to reduce the visitors to a first-innings total of 230 on Sunday and they heaped further misery on them yesterday as they smashed 396 runs in reply.
They finished the day off performing well with the ball to reduce Bedfordshire to 149 for five – a challenging 247 runs away from the Imp County's score.
Cornerstone to the hosts success was skipper Paul Cook.
The Bracebridge Heath batsman excelled with the bat, cracking home a total of 127 before finally being dismissed by Roberts.
But solid support from Liam Andrews and Aaron Onyon helped the Imp County set a formidable score.
