Ivy Tavern's progress into the semi-finals of the David Cooper Cup final was marred as Tom Smith suffered a broken leg in their 2-0 victory at home to Market Rasen.

Rick Robinson scored the goals that put them through to a semi-final tie at home to Waddington United.

They will be battling out to face FC Rustons United in the final.

FC Rustons United booked their place thanks to a dramatic 4-3 victory over Fulbeck United.

After a blank first half, home side Rustons went two up. As the game progressed, three more goals came with Rustons hanging on to a 3-2 lead.

Then, Fulbeck bagged an equaliser, but with extra-time looming Joe Smith popped up to net a last minute-winner for the city side.

Cherry Knights exacted revenge on Waddington United following their defeat to them in the Amateur Cup quarter-final by beating them 5-0 in the league.

The goals came from Joe Fisher (2), Dave Curtis, Dan Kent and Paul Nicholson.

Cherry are now just four wins away from winning their first title.

Also securing a league double while moving into fourth place were Metheringham. They visited bottom side Blacksmiths and inflicted on them their heaviest home defeat of their disastrous season with a 22-0 win.

It was 9-0 at the break, but in the second half centre-back Guy Goodwin went up front to bag a double hat-trick.

Midfielder Andy Gray and substitute Pohkin Cheung both got hat-tricks with Liam Hargrave, Matt Hardy, Mark Jordan and top scorer Matt Purbrick all getting two apiece.

The league wish to invite any new teams to the league for 2010/11.

Any club interested should contact league secretary James Stanley on (01522) 889737.
