Joint-boss Rob Scott leaves Grimsby Town as Paul Hurst becomes sole manager
Grimsby Town have parted company with joint-manager Rob Scott, leaving Paul Hurst in sole charge of the Mariners.
A statement on the Town website this morning confirmed that Scott had left with immediate effect. The shock news comes with the Blundell Park side eighth in the Skrill Premier.
Scott and Hurst left Boston United for the Mariners in March 2011 after guiding the Pilgrims to promotion from the UniBond League Premier Division the season before. The pair also won promotion with Ilkeston Town in 2009 before joining Boston.
The pair almost secured another pressure last season after guiding the Mariners to the Conference play-offs, but their hopes were ended at the semi-final stage by Newport County. Town also reached the FA Trophy final at Wembley, where they lost to another Welsh side in Wrexham.
