Known Gainsborough paedophile had 600 indecent images on his computer
A Gainsborough man faces jail after he was caught with 600 indecent images of children on his computer.
Convicted paedophile David Honeyball, 56, was found with the images on his computer tower after police searched his home on May 24.

Lincoln Crown Court heard 147 of the images were at the lowest level of one, with 13 images at level two, 282 images at level three, 146 images at level four and 12 images at the most serious level of five. The age range of the children in the images varied between 2 and 13 years old, the court was told.
Andrew Scott, prosecuting, said most of the images were found in the recycling bin of the computer but a file sharing system was also present.

Mr Scott told the court chat logs showed Honeyball was "willing and able" to share images but it was impossible to be sure if this had occurred.
The logs also showed Honeyball's preference was for girls aged between 5 and 8.
When police arrested Honeyball, he said: "I've only been on it for about a month."
During interview, Honeyball admitted being aware of the file sharing system but claimed he only looked at images once to pass them on to the sex offenders unit at Lincolnshire Police.
The court heard Honeyball was jailed for three years at Snaresbrook Crown Court in 2000 for an indecent assault on a young child, and had also received a four-year prison sentence for previous sex offences.
Honeyball, of Turpin Close, Gainsborough, pleaded guilty to five charges of making indecent images of children, possessing 600 indecent images and one charge of possessing indecent images with a view to distribution.
He was remanded into custody by Judge Michael Heath and will be sentenced at Lincoln Crown Court in September.

“AJ_Phillips - My guess would be that he has absolutely no history of computer misuse.
His own comment suggests he quite possibly did not even own a computer at the time of his previous offences.
Hopefully the presence of level four and five material on his computer, coupled with the likely evidence that he did not pass on the images to Lincolnshire Police, and his existing record, will count against him. The relatively low number of images is outweighed by the willingness to distribute.”

“I have no idea who marked Phil1W's comment negatively, but seriously? This guy is a repeat offender, and he should be given a long custodial sentence. As a known paedophile, why weren't precautions taken to ensure that he doesn't have access to the Internet at the very least?”

“I'm sure I'm not the only one to read this and hope he is sent down for a very long time. He's an obvious risk to children and I wouldn't want him near my grandchildren!”
